Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the EchoNative iOS app ("the App") and the website at echonative.com ("the Site"). By using either, you agree to them.
1. Account
EchoNative requires an account. You may sign up with email and password, or with Sign in with Apple. Your account is provisioned through Supabase, our authentication and database provider. We store your account identifier, email address, and subscription status; see the Privacy Policy for full details.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@echonative.com — see §10 below.
2. Subscription terms
EchoNative is a subscription-based app. The App is free to install, but full functionality (AI subtitles, sentence breakdown, instant word lookup, AI shadowing scoring, unlimited vocabulary review) requires an active EchoNative Pro subscription.
Plans
| Plan | Price (US) | Trial |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $9.99 / month | 7-day free trial for new subscribers |
| Yearly | $59.99 / year | 7-day free trial for new subscribers |
Local pricing in other regions follows Apple's standard pricing matrix and may include local taxes.
Free trial, billing, and renewal
- Free trial: A 7-day free trial is offered on first subscription per Apple ID. The trial converts automatically to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period. Your iTunes / App Store account is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: You can cancel at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS, or via the App Store app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
- Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple per their policies at support.apple.com/billing. EchoNative cannot directly issue refunds for in-app purchases.
Subscription management is provided by Apple In-App Purchase. We use RevenueCat to track subscription state and Supabase to mirror that state for our app — see the Privacy Policy.
3. What you can do with content
You may import any podcast RSS feed, Apple Podcasts link, or local audio file you have the right to listen to. You are responsible for respecting the copyright of podcast publishers. EchoNative is a personal study tool — generated transcripts, vocabulary, and notes are for your own learning and may not be redistributed. You may not use EchoNative to mass-scrape, mirror, or republish third-party podcast content.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use the App or the Site to:
- Violate any law or third-party right;
- Submit content that infringes copyright, harasses others, or contains malware;
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to bypass any technical limit;
- Abuse the AI-backed features (Whisper transcription / GPT-4o analysis) in a way that incurs unreasonable cost. The developer reserves the right to rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that do.
5. AI accuracy disclaimer
The App is provided "as is." Whisper transcriptions and GPT-4o analyses are produced by AI models and may contain errors — especially for accented speech, technical jargon, and proper nouns. Do not rely on them for critical decisions.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of EchoNative. Total liability for any direct claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid EchoNative in the past 12 months, or (b) USD $50.
7. Third-party services
EchoNative relies on the following third-party services. Their respective terms also apply:
- Apple (App Store, In-App Purchase, Sign in with Apple)
- OpenAI (Whisper transcription, GPT-4o language analysis)
- Supabase (authentication, user profile database)
- RevenueCat (subscription state management)
- Cloudflare Workers (API edge proxy)
- The podcast hosting providers you choose to fetch from.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top. Continued use after changes means you accept them. For changes that materially reduce your rights, we'll attempt to notify active subscribers by email.
9. Account termination
You can stop using EchoNative at any time by:
- Cancelling your subscription in iOS Settings (see §2 above);
- Deleting the App from your device;
- Requesting account deletion at hello@echonative.com — we'll delete your Supabase account and associated subscription history within 30 days.
The developer may discontinue the App or specific features with reasonable notice. If a subscription period is cut short due to discontinuation, we'll refund the unused portion via Apple where possible.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Mercer County, New Jersey, where the developer resides.
